history

Victorinox in the 1920s, this model was produced until the early 1950s. The most original version, second knife from the left in the lower right figure, was 76 mm long and had a wider shape.

Big blade: 2.4 mm; small blade: 1.4 mm; Scissors: 2.4 mm (various discrepancies can be observed).

construction

The model no. 54 is a double layer pocket knife. The first tier is identical to that of Model No. 50, with a back spring around which a large and small blade move. The second layer consists of the scissors with back spring. The back spring is continuous and forms a closure with the bowl/liner at the pocket knife foot. It also serves as a support point for the scissors when closed, similar to model no. 50/1. With scales made of mother-of-pearl, the central rivet remains hidden under the scale, while with other materials it is visible.

scale material

Horn, mother-of-pearl, tortoise scale, engine-turned steel, black oxidized steel and celluloid/ cellidor in imitation mother-of-pearl were used as the scale material.

liners

The liners, rivets and intermediate layers are made of nickel silver.
