history
Victorinox produced the No. 238 model between about 1900 and the 1930s. This model had a cartridge puller, which makes it very special as this tool is not found in any other Victorinox pocket knife. The cartridge extractor is used to remove the empty cases from the shotgun after firing cartridges with a diameter of 12 or 16 mm.
The first No.238 models had the cartridge puller mounted on the face of the pocketknife in one layer with the small cutting blade. Later, around the 1920s, the cartridge extractor was mounted on the back between the corkscrew and the awl. It remained a 3-layer pocket knife. A saw was added to the front of the later variant.
The model no. 238 is very rare and was probably only produced in very small numbers.
