No. 247 k

history

Victorinox only produced model no. 247 k for a few years at the end of the 1960s. First listed in the catalog in 1969, it is no longer included in 1971.

Victorinox between 1946 and 1951 on all officer's knives. The Model Nos. 247k and 247 were the only models that continued to use the 46 can opener. Why is unclear. Apparently there was a need and a demand for this particular pocket knife. What is also special about the history is that the larger model no. 247 was being manufactured by Victorinox until about exactly the same time as the smaller model no. 247k appeared. They were therefore not produced at the same time. It is also possible that Victorinox still had a remaining stock of model 46 can openers for the 84 mm officer's knife, and that those for the 91 mm series had been used up.

functional parts

The model no. 247 k had a large cutting blade, a can opener and a corkscrew on the back. There was the model with the bracket option, but not with the tweezers/toothpick.

The model no. 247 k was a 1-layer pocket knife. The large cutting blade moves around the head rivet, and the can opener moves around the base rivet. The middle rivet fixes the can opener, a 4th hidden rivet fixes the back spring.

Victorinox used as scale material Cellidor red.
