history
Model No. 2206 first appears in the 1969 Victorinox catalogue. It may have been produced earlier, possibly only in very small numbers. The number 2206 is a consecutive number of a system that has existed since 1959. It is possible that certain numbers were deliberately left blank in the numbering in order to be able to assign them to a new model at a later point in time. This model featured a hooked blade.
functional parts
Model No.2206 had a large cutting blade and hook blade. This model was not available with the shackle/key ring option.
material thickness
Large cutting blade: 2.8 mm; Hook blade: 1.8 mm
construction
The large cutting blade turned around the head rivet, the hooked blade around the foot rivet. An intermediate layer was also attached to the base rivet to compensate for the difference in tool thickness.
scale material
Victorinox used red anodized aluminum as the scale material.
Liners/spacers/rivets
The intermediate layer consisted of brass, later of German silver; the head and foot rivets are made of nickel silver, the center rivet is made of aluminium.
