history

Victorinox developed model no. 8134 m around 1960. The first models had the older, external awl, which was replaced in 1961 by a newer, internal awl. This model typically had an inlay in the bowl of nickel silver or stainless steel with a depiction of Saint Christopher.

Although model No.8134 m was only produced for about 15-20 years, it underwent many changes. At times it belonged to the Elinox line.

In addition to the large cutting blade, can opener and screwdriver, model no. 8134 m had a metal file, an awl and a Phillips screwdriver on the back, as well as a narrow screwdriver. The model was available with tweezers/toothpick as standard and optionally with the bracket/key ring option.

construction

The construction of model no. 8134 m is identical to that of model no. 237, except that a Phillips screwdriver was fitted instead of the corkscrew and a narrow screwdriver instead of the small cutting blade. The can opener and large cutting blade rotate around the head rivet, the two screwdrivers and the metalsaw/metal file around the base rivet, the Phillips screwdriver and the awl around the center rivet.

scale material

Victorinox used as scale material Cellidor red. As with many pocket knives, special modifications could be ordered from Victorinox for an extra charge, for example with a different handle color or without the addition of toothpicks/tweezers.

Liners/spacers/rivets

The circuit boards and intermediate layers are made of nickel silver or aluminum.
