history

The model no. 622 is largely unknown. It appears occasionally in the old Victorinox catalogues. The production time should have been about 10 - 15 years.

The model had its origins in the late 1920s/early 1930s. There were variants made of carbon steel, and later also made of stainless steel. The vast majority of these pocket knives were produced for individual companies for advertising purposes, with a nickel silver inlay or a blackened inscription.

Model no. 622 first appears in the 1942 catalogue, and later also in the 1952 catalogue. However, it can be assumed that production ended in the early 1940s. There are pictures of the model in catalogues, but without specific ordering options.

In terms of structure, model no. 622 is very similar to model no. 621. However, this had a size of 82.5 mm.

Model No. 622 had a small and a large cutting blade. The model did not come with the bail or toothpick/tweezers options

material thickness

Big blade: 1.75 mm; small blade: 1.75 mm. Later, intermediate layers and a material thickness of 2.0 mm (large blade) and 1.25 mm (small blade) were used.

construction

The special thing about model no. 622 is the one-piece scale, which is folded on the back of the pocket knife (U-shape). The steel liners were connected to each other at the back.

The large blade turns around the head rivet and the small blade around the foot rivet. The third rivet, partially hidden under the scale material, fixed the back spring. Circuit liners were omitted. In later production, spacers were used.
