history
Model No.26 first appears in the 1937 catalogue. There is no model No.26 listed in the previous catalogues. It was a 5-part pocket knife with 4 layers. It was produced by Victorinox in the sizes 106 mm and 100 mm, there in all available variants, whereby the flute blade was always made of rust-resistant steel.
This model remained largely unchanged in construction throughout the production period.
functional parts
In addition to a large cutting blade, model no. 26 had a hook blade, a pocket awl, a saw and a flute blade. The additional bail was available as an option for the model.
material thickness
Large cutting blade: 2.5–2.8 mm; Awl: 2.0 – 2.3 mm; Flute: 1.8 – 2.0 mm; Saw: 2.0 – 2.3 mm; Hook blade: 2.0 – 2.3 mm
construction
On the No.26 model, all tools revolved around the head rivet except for the pocket awl. This shared the upper layer with the hooked blade, the 2nd layer consisted of the saw, the 3rd layer of the large cutting blade and the lower layer of the flute blade.
scale material
Victorinox used red fiber scales and class I and II horn as the material for this pocket knife.
liners/rivets
The rivets and liners were made of steel or brass, the jaws of nickel silver, depending on the version. In the case of the high-quality, so-called "fine version", rivets and liners made of brass and jaws made of nickel silver were used, and rust-resistant steel was used for the tools, if this was already available.
