Victorinox produced the model no. 2232 since the late 1950s. From 1958 the Alox developed Pioneer line and in this context also other models with corrugated aluminum scales. The classic variants shown in the catalogs are those with ribbed, silver or red aluminum scales, with or without a key ring. However, there were also models no. 2232 for advertising purposes made of smooth aluminum scales and very rarely variants with cellidor scales (model no. 232 k). These variants were not shown in the catalogue.
Production ceased in the mid-1980s. As this model was only produced in small numbers and only for a limited period of time, it is very popular with collectors. In addition, there are hardly any aluminum scales from this period in good condition.
In addition to a large cutting blade, model no. 2232 had a bottle opener (later combo tool) and scissors. Aluminum scale models never had the toothpick/tweezers option.
Large cutting blade: 2.5 mm; Scissors: 2.5mm; Bottle opener: 1.5 mm (later combo tool 1.4 mm)
Since model no. 2232 had no functional parts on the back, three rivets were enough. In the lower layer, the head rivet fixes the large cutting blade and the base rivet fixes the bottle opener. The upper layer consists of the scissors, which are fixed to the foot rivet. The center rivet holds the two back springs together.
Classic scale material is aluminium, silver or red ribbed. In addition, variants in smooth aluminum were produced for advertising purposes.
Model No. 2232 has no circuit liners. The spacers and rivets are made of nickel silver.
