history
The model no. 2224 has a similarly long history as the model no. 2220. It is the only known model besides the no. 2220 that Victorinox made with the old external awl. So it should have been in production since around 1956/1957. It was the standard No.2220 model with an additional saw. This made it one of the few models in the Alox - Pioneer line without special tools such as a sewing awl, hooked blade or narrow screwdriver. There are different variants of model no. 2224, which show the course of history: external awl (up to approx. 1959), + PAT can opener up to 1971, bail in front of key ring, brass liners in front of nickel silver liners, etc. The original color was red anodized.
