No. 621

history

Little is known about the history of the No. 621 model. It first appeared in the 1942 catalog and later in the 1952 catalogue, but without ordering options and without configuration options. It is possible that this model was only made for individual, special customers. At that time there were identical types of pocket knives from other manufacturers. Possibly they also wanted to offer such a type of pocket knife.

Most of the pocket knives are made of carbon steel. Sometimes there were also mixed forms (large blade made of rust-resistant steel, small blade made of carbon steel), which is something very rare for Victorinox, but was often made that way by other pocket knife manufacturers at the time. The production period was probably from the early 1930s to around 1950.

functional parts

The model no. 621 had a large and a small cutting blade.

material thickness

Big cutting blade: 2.0 mm; small cutting blade: 2.0 mm

construction

Model No. 621 used two rivets, one to hold the large blade and one to hold the small blade in place. What made this model very special was the back spring, which had a bulge in the middle that broke through the scale on the back of the pocket knife. This fixed the back spring, not with a rivet as usual. Neither intermediate layers nor circuit liners were used in this model.

scale material

Black oxidized sheet iron was used as the scale material.
