No. 136 k

history

Not too much is known about the No. 136 k model. It appears to have only been produced in a very limited number. It differs from model no. 236 k only in the presence of the Phillips screwdriver instead of the corkscrew.

The picture on the right shows that this pocket knife has the older can opener that was installed between 1946 and 1951. According to Victorinox, the Phillips screwdriver did not exist until 1952, which is why this version of model no. 136 k should not exist in this form. It can therefore be assumed that the Phillips screwdriver was already being produced and installed around 1950. Because it made no sense to install the old, inferior tool instead of an improved tool (new can opener).

The model no. 136 k was produced until the 1970s and was then withdrawn from production.

functional parts

Model No. 136 k had a small and a large cutting blade, a can opener, a screwdriver, scissors and a saw, an awl and a Phillips screwdriver on the back.

Model No. 136 k was probably only available with tweezers/toothpicks and without a bow.

material thickness

Large cutting blade: 2.5 mm; small cutting blade: 1.6 mm; Can Opener: 2.2mm; Bottle Opener: 2.2mm; Saw: 1.75mm; Scissors: 2.2; Awl: 2.2 mm; Phillips screwdriver: 2.5 mm

construction

The model no. 136 k was a 4-layer pocket knife. The bottom layer consisted of small cutting blade, screwdriver and Phillips screwdriver on the back; the upper layer of large cutting blade, can opener and awl on the back. Between these layers were two additional layers. One with the scissors, the other with the saw. Basically, model no. 136 k consists of the basic model no. 134 k, but with the additional layers of both model no. 235 k (scissors) and model no. 237 k (saw).

scale material

Cellidor red was primarily used as the scale material.

Liners/spacers/rivets

The liners, rivets and intermediate layers consisted of nickel silver.
