No. 246

history

Model No.246 was a model No.236 with the addition of a long nail file on the back. The model first appeared in a Victorinox catalog around 1946. In brochures from around 1954, the model is listed under the "Executive" knives in the English language version, but not under "Kaufmann" in the German language version.

From 1959, model no. 246 was assigned to the "For Technicians" category. Model No. 246 was always available with tweezers/toothpicks and with a clip/key ring.

construction

The model no. 246 is a 4-layer pocket knife. The upper layer consists of the can opener, the screwdriver and the awl on the back. The lower layer consists of the small and large cutting blade and the corkscrew on the back, the second layer consists of the saw and the third layer consists of the scissors/long nail file on the back. The scissors are fixed together with the large cutting blade and the can opener with the head rivet. The awl and corkscrew revolve around the central rivet. The long nail file is fixed with a pin located between the two boards between the 2nd and 4th position.

scale material

Victorinox produced the No. 246 model with red cellidor scales.

circuit boards/interlayer

The liners and intermediate layer are made of aluminium, the rivets are made of nickel silver.
